UNKNOW: Design Project Details

The mission was to interpret the Chinese Proverb: 'Unless we change our direction, we are likely to end up where we are headed'.
My angle was that even if we change our direction, we're still destined to end up where we are headed. The Chinese seem to enjoy this kind of paradox. Having some knowledge of Zen, I decided to apply it to a fresh and charged communication of our fundamental misunderstanding of what constitutes real change.
The key is to 'Change what "Change" means."
I wanted to explore energy and motion in a static, heavily typographic piece, since I am most interested in the motion image major at Grant MacEwan. As an original idea of mine, the UNKNOW concept symbolizes my spiritual focus and passion in life, and it is therefore a delightfully versatile project element to work with.

I love the quote. It seems to have a very simple meaning for me…it is telling me that we choose our direction and are responsible for the outcome. So if we are not happy with the outcome we are experiencing today, we can and should change our direction. It is up to us and within us to do. However, if what you are getting from life is exactly what you want, then don't change direction and know that you created your wonderful reality.

Thank you David, it was nice to hear from you. I like to think that I am quickly becoming aligned with the latter. Life is handing itself over to me and I am so grateful to the universe.
