I want to write on a list of virtues, but I thought I might list them here instead, first. Then you can pick one, or some, or all of them and tell me what YOU believe they mean, how they can be upheld, practiced, meditated upon... or whatever comes to your mind, even if its just a few poetic thoughts. Also, tell a couple other people about this post and lets get a Gaia's-eye-view on ideas surrounding these virtues. Sounds like fun? Then be free to help out!

it IS a great idea to mediate on higher energies and principles. The list you have made is outstanding. If I had to pick three, i would select -
discipline, focus, and humility
they probably sum up my ideals.
I will meditate on some of these during the course of my day and come back to say what I have found inside of me.
my heart is warmed by the image posted here and by the words peace, patience, compassion, understanding, courage, forgiveness.
right now it occurs to me that courage is needed for all these–patience, peace, compassion, forgiveness.
thank you for the thought provocation and heart warmth.

The thought occurred to me that all these have a connection to love in one way or another, and are positive. except perhaps sacrifice and surrender could be either positive or negative.it's the two that i was not sure was a virtue, surrendering to love might be - but not to fear for example. sacrifice once included human sacrifice, also encompasses self sacrifice for another.person or purpose.
The other day when I uttered the platitude “patience is a virtue”, my friend grinned and replied, “yes, but impatience has served me just as well”.
And when I think about it, as an ER MD, I guess impatience has served me even better: only 10 min to brain death.
